Purpose of the filter
The use of pulse fabric filter secures maintenance at required levels of dust concentration in the gases emitted into the atmosphere. Fabric filters are designed for dedusting of dry dusts which do not form explosive mixtures. They are used primarily in the final stage of dedusting process.
The principle of operation of the filter
Pulse fabric filter in combination with two parallel systems of cyclones serving as a workaround (so called by-pass) filter dedustes approx. 80% of the exhaust gas emitted from the boiler. The polluted gas is brought through the inlet opening into the filtration chamber through the filter bags from which it passes into the clean gas. The dust is stuck on the outer surface of the filter bags where it is removed periodically by shaking system operating automatically. Dust shaken of the bags falls by gravity into the tanks chutes, where through the lock slot is removed to boiler slag tubs through the system of screw conveyors.
This method is highly effective, but its main drawbacks include the price of installation and:
cost of filter,
installation of compressed air system,
potential cost of extra exhaust fan.
Also, subsequnt running costs are higher as compared to multi-stage mechanical system (electricity costs, frequent replacement of filter bags, and others).
Due to the economic aspect, wherever it is possible to use the mechanical systems (appropriate fuel is the main considaration), we recommend our customers just such a solution.
